My cousin, my brother, my friend. You were all these and more to me. The morning I received the news that you were gone I went into shock. I cried and cried. Each time I thought about you or heard your name I just broken down. All I kept asking myself was why you and why now. The day of your funeral I did not want to enter the church, as it meant that I would finally have to say goodbye. Your funeral was out of this world, the church was packed. Young and old came to say "Goodbye" they all had a good story to tell. You had two Eulogies. We saw people we had not seen in years - they had heard - and came in their numbers. Your flowers were out of this world. Your two 7ft floral arrangements were blocking the priest and had to be shifted to the side. I knew you were laughing, as they struggled to move them. Your niece, nephew, cousins, godchildren and children who had adpoted you as their Uncle read the bidding prayers. There was not a dry eye in the church. Your "Happy Hour" blared out your favourite music and we knew that would be your happiest moment of the day. You always looked forward to Bank Holiday Monday and you would be the first to leave for Notting Hill Carnival. All we have of you are happy memories. I can now do this for you as I know you are resting peacefully and I no longer question why you had to go away. Thanks for all the good times we shared. I thank god for having blessed us with a wonderful person like you. Continue to rest in peace, you are dearly missed but forever in our hearts. xxxxx
Never got my chance to tell you the words I simply passed on to others and hoped they would pass them on to you.
